Rose Yates who looked after young grandaughter Megan, who was badly burned in a horrific blaze which killed her mum Gail Yates, rose was warmly praised by family, friends and neighbors.
Tributes came from her family - including loving memories from some of the grandchildren she adored.
The family were in the same church only three weeks ago, grieving the death of dad Eddie Rainbow, Rose's partner of 34 years.
Rose died last week from a peritonitis following a perforated ulcer. Eddie had been suffering from bronchial pneumonia.
"She came from a large and loving family who have been through more than their fair share of ups and downs.
Rose became mam to seven-year-old Megan when the little girl's mum Gail, 27; uncle Lee, 18, and aunty Joanne, 22, died in a horrific house fire in Pelham Street, Middlesbrough, in 2003.
She and her grandaughter became inseparable as Megan fought to recover from serious burns.
Apart from rose's son and two daughters killed in the blaze, another son, Gary, died the year before at just 18 from an overdose
Family members believe rose died from a broken heart.

I know its been a while but never thought of writing on this before. I just want to say you were a great aunty, I know living a way I didnt get to see you much but I know you were always asking my mum about me.
You use to make me laugh when you use to take the mick out of us and my dad callin us carrot tops. I know that my mum thinks of you all the time.
